Muhammad has never been submitted.
Edwards is a body triangle locked in and continues to attack the neck but Muhammad isn't going to let that happen.
Keeping this position for the final two minutes of this round is not a bad idea for Edwards. It won't be pretty but it will get him a much needed round under his belt.

Edwards is just struggling to find his rhythm.
Muhammad is on the front foot with constant pressure and movement.
Edwards defends a takedown and manages to reverse. He tries to get a hook in as he wraps his arms around Muhammad's body and now gets the back.
It doesn't look like there's enough space on the fence though. This could be tricky to get the submission.

Every time Edwards gets back to his feet, Muhammad goes on the attack again.
He is strangling the body of Edwards and leaning on the champion. This must be taking a lot of energy from Edwards.
Edwards is so busy defending that he hasn't been able to get a foothold in this fight.

Edwards lands an uppercut to start the round but Muhammad backs him on to the fence as he did several times in round one.
This time, Edwards defends the takedown, despite Muhammad getting both hands locked around the legs.
Muhammad is persistent, though, and does manage to take it to the ground.

Between rounds, Edwards' corner say: "What do you think about using the low kick like we did in the changing room and then moving to the high kick?"
It was that high kick that famously won him the welterweight title against Kamaru Usman.

Edwards is warned about fingers by referee Mike Beltran.
The first meeting between these two had two eye pokes with the second bringing causing the fight to be deemed a no-contest.
Muhammed backs Edwards on to the cage and lands to head and body before securing a takedown. That's two already and might be enough to take the opening round.
Not a huge amount of damage done on the ground though as Edwards slips away.
