It's time for this live text to come to an end on a disappointing night for Ireland's Paul Hughes as he came up short against Usman Nurmagomedov once again.

Broadcaster Ariel Helwani also reacted to the scorecards on X: "50-45 Usman is quite possibly the worst singular scorecard in the history of MMA. Despicable."

Broadcaster Adam Catterall reacted to Paul Hughes' loss on X: "50-45 is absolutely disgraceful. The fact Nurmagomedov didn’t have a point deducted for repeat fouls is also disgraceful. Hughes was up against it just fighting Usman never mind the officials too!"

So then, as we've just seen Usman Nurmagomedov mentioned the name of Alfie Davis in his post-fight interview, but who is he?

The 33-year-old from London won the 2025 PFL lightweight tournament in August and this makes him basically the next in line for a title shot.

Davis has a record of 20-5-1 and would be a huge outsider to take the title off Nurmagomedov.

Still in complete shock at the judges scorecards. 50-45 was never there.

Paul Hughes did look annoyed with himself at the final bell but it was much closer than that.

"You want to say this fight was close too? I feel I won every round, but it was a very tough fight with tough opponent. I did not underestimate him, I think he underestimated me. Thank you so much for the fight Paul.

On who he wants to fight next: "Who is the handsome guy from England, Alfie Davis? Anytime, anywhere, I am waiting for you."

Coach Khabib Nurmagomedov speaking after the victory: "First of all I want to say thank you Paul, because of this guy we have pushed Usman so hard the last eight moments. You can see the improvements he made."

MMA journalist Peter Carroll on X: "50-45, 49-46 are criminal cards. I said all week Paul Hughes would have to stop Usman Nurmagomedov, those cards prove it. Shocking."

Broadcaster Ariel Helwani on X: "OMG. One judge had it 50-45. One had it 49-46. Usman wins. It was close. 50-45 (and 49-46) is absolutely insane. WOW."

Usman Nurmagomedov's coach Khabib Nurmagomedov says it's "going to be very difficult to kick us out of this cage" and they're the "best in the world".

It was a huge victory for Usman Nurmagomedov and the judges scored it 50-45, 49-46, 48-47.

I've no idea where that 50-45 card has come from.

Dan Hardy has scored the fight for Nurmagomedov... which way will it go?

"Great fight. I think Usman took the last round. 1,4, and 5 for Usman," he said on X.

Hughes' right eye doesn't look great right now as both fighters stand in the middle of the ring.

Nurmagomedov wanted to show that Hughes wasn't good enough to share the cage with him. That isn't the case, Hughes is certainly on his level.

This could be a draw.

So, so tough to call.

Hughes sees the blood and applies more pressure as Nurmagomedov holds right hand high to protect his eye.

Nurmagomedov goes for the high knee and manages to nail the takedown but Hughes breaks out once again.

To the scorecards we go and the two embrace. Nurmagomedov thinks he's won this and Hughes doesn't look happy.

There is some real needle between these two with words after almost every strike.

Nurmagomedov turns away holding his eye and he's got cut above the eye. A replay shows it's come from Hughes' head in an accidental clash.
