Michael Rutter appeared to have a bit of bother getting his BMW off the line but he eventually gets it going.

Given the earlier controversy this one could be spicy.

The bikes are now off on their warm-up lap.

"There has something that has gone wrong with the ECU overnight. I don't know, it's just not the bike I had on Thursday.

"We have gone back to what we had but something is amiss."

Alastair Seeley speaking on BBC iPlayer:

"It's been a long day. The weather has been good, a bit blustery and stormy, but that's the same for everybody.

"We have actually changed the clutch, we found in the Superstock race that the clutch was struggling.

"Everyone seems to be having issues with running on with the strong winds so we'll try keep everything clean, hit all our marks and hang in their until the end."

The tension down here in the grid, there are five riders with a big point to prove.

Peter Hickman and Davey Todd really want to win the race after what happened earlier, Dean Harrison has had more second places than anyone I have ever met at the North West 200 and Michael Dunlop is full of confidence and he wants to win races so the push is on.

So, we've just one race to go and it's the big one.

The feature North West 200 Superbike race is the one they all want to win.

Davey Todd and Michael Dunlop (somewhat controversially) have a win each, but who will claim this one?

I am chuffed to bits for Paul Jordan.

I was shouting at the screen a little bit there if I'm honest. I am going to have one happy little boy when I am home as Paul is his hero!

There's been the odd podium today where it hasn't been overly cheery, but the three lads up there just can't stop smiling.

Who can blame them?

Barry Furber, who finished third, on BBC iPlayer: "It took me by surprise. I saw the two lads down, but at that point I didn't know where I was. I kept riding until I got to the holding area and they were like 'aren't you third?!'. It was a big battle with AJ Venter, but I didn't know it was for a podium. It's been great fun.

"We come here and try to do well but we never expected this. We'll take it however it comes."

Second placed Michael Sweeney speaking on BBC iPlayer:

"In 2023, I thought that was going to be the end of it with the crash and then to come back and I never dreamed of standing here. This is something really special.

"I have always dreamed of winning a podium at an international and today we have done it.

"I'm just so happy, particularly with what happened a few years ago. To come back here and do it in the same class than what left me in a bad way.

"This is a dream. I came around the last lap and it was like a national road race."
