Grand Final: Jamie Peacock backs Leeds Rhinos experience

Leeds Rhinos prop Jamie Peacock says the big game experience the team have could be pivotal in Saturday's Grand Final against Warrington.

The Rhinos have made the final for the fifth time in six years, while the Wire are making their Grand Final debut.

"There's a lot of experience in this side and we know how to handle big games and close them out," he told BBC North West Tonight.

"That gives you a confidence and a belief that you can win things."

He added: "When you stand shoulder-to-shoulder with somebody and you know that they've helped you win things in the past then you believe in them."

Despite being reigning Super League champions, the 34-year-old expects his side to go in to Saturday's game as underdogs.

The Rhinos finished fifth in the regular season while the Wire came second and beat Leeds in the Challenge Cup final in August.

"We'll go in as underdogs again and rightly so," he continued.

"They have shown that they've been the best team through the season even though they came second to Wigan.

"They've beaten us in a final already this year and they are a very good side.

"I can't remember being in a final with Leeds and not being the underdog. We like it because it means you come in with no pressure."

Peacock, who retired from international duty earlier in the season, is playing in his 10th Grand Final.

This will be his fifth with Leeds, matching the five he played in his time with Bradford Bulls.
