Warrington v Huddersfield: Chris Hill unaffected by Club Call choice

Chris Hill says Warrington's players did not care who the club selected as their play-off semi-final opponents.

With the use of Club Call, the Wolves chose to face Huddersfield - the League Leaders' Shield winners - on Thursday for a place in October's Grand Final.

But the England international said that any of the other three remaining teams would have provided a stiff test.

"We just get on with it. You have to beat the best to win the Grand Final," prop Hill told BBC North West Tonight.

"But there's a big 80 minutes in front of us before we can even think about going back to Old Trafford. We've got to overcome a good Huddersfield side."

Head coach Tony Smith is against the Club Call system and was not involved in the selection process.

Warrington could have chosen to face Leeds - their conquerors in the - as their semi-final opponents but instead opted to play the Giants, a team they have already beaten on three occasions this season.

Thursday's last-four tie will be Adrian Morley's final game at the Halliwell Jones Stadium as a Warrington player.

Captain Morley, 36, is leaving the Wolves at the end of the season to join hometown club Salford.

"I've played with some great players over the last few years and Adrian's probably been the most instrumental player that I've had in my career," said winger Chris Riley.

"I was about 19 when he first came over [coming back from playing in Australia] and we had a team get-together. The first thing he did was walk over to us young lads, introduced himself and shook our hands. That's something that's lived long in my memory.

"He's a great leader. The way he conducts himself, on and off the field, is something I've taken a lot from and tried to implement in my career."
