Leeds Rhinos: Prop Ryan Bailey wants to finish at Headingley

Leeds Rhinos prop Ryan Bailey has said he would love to end his career with the club.

Bailey, 30, whose testimonial against London Broncos will take place on Friday, has two years left on his current contract.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "I'd love to stay here. I've got two seasons to prove to the coaches I'm worth keeping.

"There were talks last year about going to Australia but Leeds have stood by me and I wanted to be loyal to them."

He added: "I'd feel privileged and proud to end my career with this club.

"When I started here I never even thought I'd play 10 games, so to look back on everything I've achieved here is pretty special. I've been lucky to have been involved with this club."

Bailey made his debut for the Headingley side against Wakefield in June 2002 and has clocked up 291 appearances for his hometown team.

The six-time Grand Final winner has served a number of bans over his career, including a four-match ban last season for two separate offences in the win over Catalan Dragons.

Despite his reputation with some in the game the England international says he has no regrets about his actions on the field.

"People are entitled to their opinion but all I want to be remembered as is Ryan Bailey who played for Leeds Rhinos," he added.

"You always want to improve and you always want to be a better player and if you slack off then you'll get found out by your opponent."

The Rhinos start the new Super League campaign with a trip to Hull KR on Sunday, 16 February.
