St Helens half-back Lance Hohaia has hinted he may return to the National Rugby League when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Kiwi, 32, joined on a four-year deal from New Zealand Warriors in 2011 as a replacement for Kyle Eastmond.

Hohaia was famously knocked out by Wigan's Ben Flower in the 2014 Grand Final but Saints won the game.

"I think it is probably time for me to think about my kids and my family and put them first," he said.

He told BBC Radio Merseyside: "I've no concrete plans in place as yet, we're still just enjoying the season and the summer months that are coming ahead.

"I haven't made any definitive decisions on the future just yet."

Saints have also said that Matt Dawson has been sent for a scan on the ankle injury that forced him off in the win at Huddersfield.
