Wakefield Trinity Wildcats coach James Webster has suggested his time at the club could be coming to an end after their Challenge Cup defeat by Leigh.

The Wildcats, bottom of Super League, were 24-6 up at half-time against the Championship leaders but capitulated in the second period to lose 36-30.

When asked if he was concerned about his future, he told BBC Radio Leeds: "You go into coaching knowing you will get sacked at some point.

"I'll go home and think about it."

He added: "I think there will be a lot of changes next week, whether you are talking about players or elsewhere. Things will be different next week."

Webster took over at Belle Vue last June after Richard Agar resigned.

The former assistant was backed by chairman Michael Carter last month after they fell to an 80-0 defeat by Warrington.

The Wildcats have lost 12 of their last 13 matches in all competitions and are seven points adrift at the bottom of the league.

Webster was unhappy with what he called a "typical" Wakefield performance.

"How can you take any positives from it?" he said.

"It was typical of Wakefield this season that we couldn't show any grit or guts to see it out.

"We were 18 points up at half-time and playing against a team from a lower division - they're probably a better team than we are."
