Super League: Hull FC 10-14 Wigan Warriors

Liam Marshall scored Wigan's winning try with five minutes left at the KCOM Stadium

Wigan Warriors ended their three-match losing run with victory at Hull FC to stay second in the Super League table.

The Cherry and Whites led 8-6 at half-time, with Bureta Faraimo crossing for Hull after Dan Sarginson's opener.

Faraimo scored his second try after the break to complete the turnaround, but a Sam Tomkins penalty made it 10-10.

Wigan won it late on in fortuitous fashion when Tomkins' drop-goal attempt hit the bar and Sean O'Loughlin teed up Liam Marshall to go over in the corner.

Warriors, who remain six points behind leaders St Helens, had not won since coach Shaun Wane's announcement on 21 May that he would be leaving at the end of the season.

The dramatic last-gasp victory also comes after a difficult period for the club off the field, Joel Tomkins having departed to join Hull KR this week after being suspended and fined for being abusive to bar staff.

Marshall thought he had snatched victory even before his 75th-minute score, touching down in the corner but only following Oliver Gildart's forward pass.

Having suffered their first home defeat of 2018, Hull remain fifth in the table, four points ahead of sixth-placed Wakefield.
