Brayden Wiliame scored twice as Catalans Dragons claimed a seventh win from their last nine Super League games with victory at Wakefield.

First-half tries from Greg Bird, Benjamin Julien, David Mead and Wiliame helped the Dragons into a 22-12 interval lead.

Wakefield scored through Justin Horo (two) and Tom Johnstone.

But Wiliame completed his brace while Fouad Yaha also went over and Josh Drinkwater kicked five goals.

The result lifts the French side to seventh in the table, level on points with Wakefield.

Wakefield coach Chris Chester:

"It's extremely disappointing. I don't know what was worse, the attack or the defence. We were terrible in both aspects of the game.

"We need to collectively and individually put things right. We started well but we just couldn't control or contain their big lads, their middles.

"They just ran harder and tackled harder than us so I'm frustrated and a little bit embarrassed because that performance shouldn't have happened."

Catalans coach Steve McNamara:

"There are a few teams in and around us, so we've just got to keep winning. There are a million permutations, so you've just got to keep turning up and winning games.

"If we keep playing well and don't fall in love with ourselves - there is no danger of that whatsoever - we'll be OK. We know that, regardless of what happens elsewhere.

"I thought it was one of our better recent performances because Wakefield is a really tough place to come."
