  1. Kick-offpublished at 18:45 GMT

    Wales 7-7 Japan

Japan get us back under way and Wales have almost 20 minutes to get through down to 14 men. Adams won't be the man that returns after that.

  2. Red cardpublished at 18:44 GMT

    Wales 7-7 Japan

Before things get back under way, referee Matthew Carley informs us that Josh Adams' yellow card has been upgraded to a 20-minute red.

    HT: Wales 7-7 Japan

Like we mentioned in the build-up, it's a pretty important day for both shaped balls in Welsh sport.

Well good news, Wales men's football side is currently leading Liechtenstein 1-0 in their crucial World Cup qualifier some 850 miles away.

Can the rugby team follow suit? The second half is on the way.

  4. Rees-Zammit off the pacepublished at 18:44 GMT

    HT: Wales 7-7 Japan

    James Hook
Former Wales fly-half on BBC Radio Wales

Louis Rees-Zammit doesn't seem quite there in terms of sharpness. He has little bursts, and it seems to take him a minute or two to get back into the game.

The moments we've seen have been exciting and have got the crowd on their feet.

A reminder of how important this game is for the World Cup in 2027.

The draw is made on 3 December and if Japan draw or win then they will go above Wales in the world rankings.

That would mean Steve Tandy's men are at risk of being in the third batch of teams for the new 24-team tournament.

There would be the possibility of Wales being in a group of death with, for example, South Africa, Argentina and Tonga.

This is a huge 40 minutes for the long term.

What does Steve Tandy have on his bench if he wants to shake things up?

Props Rhys Carre and Keiron Assiratti performed strongly when starting last week while Taine Plumtree will be keen to make an impact after missing out on the 23 against the Pumas.

In terms of backs, fly-half Jarrod Evans is of the Dan Edwards mould while centre Nick Tompkins has been in good form for Saracens.

Max Llewellyn hasn't been able to make much of an impact so far.

  7. 'All Japan' in the first-halfpublished at 18:38 GMT

    HT: Wales 7-7 Japan

    James Hook
Former Wales fly-half on BBC Radio Wales

Towards the end of the second-half we missed far too many tackles which allowed Japan to be on the front foot.

It's been all Japan since Wales' try.

  8. Results elsewherepublished at 18:37 GMT

    HT: Wales 7-7 Japan

We're all square in Cardiff, but let's bring you up to date with what's happening elsewhere today.

    Italy 14-32 South Africa

    England 33-19 New Zealand

    France v Fiji (20:10 GMT)

    Gareth Griffiths
BBC Sport Wales at Principality Stadium

Wales were insipid in attack in that first half and could not take advantage of two extra men.

Japan were by the far more dangerous side in attack and Wales will have to improve markedly in this second half.

  10. 'Really clumsy'published at 18:31 GMT

    HT: Wales 7-7 Japan

    Gareth Delve
Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales

Dylan Riley is laying the ball back and Josh Adams hits him. That's just really clumsy.

    It's a really poor attempt at a counter-ruck.

  11. Half-time: Wales 7-7 Japanpublished at 18:30 GMT

Lee strikes the left post with his penalty attempt and Wales scramble to deal with the loose ball.

    It's level at the break.

Pretty poor from Wales and Steve Tandy has a lot to address at half-time.

They will also wait to see if Josh Adams' yellow card remains yellow rather than being upgraded.

  12. Sin-binpublished at 18:28 GMT

    Wales 7-7 Japan

A TMO check for an illegal clear-out by Wales wing Josh Adams.

Silly by the experienced Cardiff back and they will finish the half down to 14 and start the second a man down.

    Japan will kick for goal...

  13. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Wales 7-7 Japan

There was plenty of positivity thanks to the attack against Argentina but this has been a poor first half against Japan.

The tourists have been the better side despite the yellow cards.

They will finish on the attack...

  14. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Wales 7-7 Japan

Japan are back to 14 men without any damage on the scoreboard.

Just under three minutes left of the other yellow.

Can Wales sneak in front before the break?

  15. Postpublished at 18:21 GMT

    Wales 7-7 Japan

    James Hook
Former Wales fly-half on BBC Radio Wales

It was great to see Rees-Zammit in full flight again, he can get the crowd on their feet.

The pass should've gone to Tomos Williams there though.

  16. Rapid Rees-Zammitpublished at 33 mins

    Wales 7-7 Japan

Japan lose control of the ball and Louis Rees-Zammit bursts away from his 22.

Incredible pace by the wing but he never once looked like passing and knocks on when scrum-half Tomos Williams was in support.

    Another wasted opportunity.

  17. Bunker decisionpublished at 32 mins

    Wales 7-7 Japan

It will remain a yellow card for Japan number eight Makisi.

  18. Postpublished at 18:17 GMT

    Wales 7-7 Japan

    James Hook
Former Wales fly-half on BBC Radio Wales

It'll be interesting to see if Japan go against their mantra and try and slow things down now they're down to 13.

They certainly haven't slowed things down so far.

  19. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Wales 7-7 Japan

Wales maul it against the 13 men to suck in some defenders.

They rumble forward and then captain Dewi Lake peels off, only for tight-head Archie Griffin to knock on from the next phase.

    What a waste.

  20. Sin-binpublished at 29 mins

    Wales 7-7 Japan

The TMO alerts referee Matthew Carley to a tackle on fly-half Dan Edwards.

Did Faulua Makisi make contact with his head? He did. The number eight is sent to the sin bin for a bunker review.

Japan are down to 13 men for another four minutes.
