England face Samoa in their Rugby League World Cup opener on Saturday and we gave BBC Sport users the chance to select who they thought should be in Shaun Wane's starting team.

More than 11,000 people had picked their preferred line-up by 16:00 BST on Friday, and the full line-up they chose can be seen below.

The consensus agreed with Wane's decision to select Dominic Young and Tommy Makinson on the wings ahead of England's all-time leading try-scorer Ryan Hall, with St Helens man Makinson the most selected player (86.9%).

George Williams and Jack Welsby got the nod as the half-back partnership, while Andy Ackers, who missed out on Wane's 19-man squad to face Samoa, was voted narrowly ahead of Michael McIlorum in the hooker position.
