Super League champions Wigan Warriors have signed prop Sam Eseh from Wakefield Trinity on a two-year deal, with the option of a third year.

The 20-year-old made his first-team debut with Trinity in 2023, making 15 appearances, but was unable to help retain their Super League status.

Eseh also spent time on loan to Barrow and Featherstone in 2022, with three tries in 19 games combined.

"I'm really excited to be signing a deal with the Warriors," Eseh said.

"Growing up playing rugby I've always known Wigan as a club that is relentless in anything they do and that's something I can't wait to be a part of."

Former Trinity boss Mark Applegarth, who had worked with the East Leeds junior through the age groups, gave Eseh his Super League debut against Huddersfield in March.

He spent the rest of the season as an off-the-bench forward option at Belle Vue, having signed a professional deal in 2021.

"Sam is a player we have been tracking for a few years and it is the right time for him to join us," Wigan boss Matt Peet said.
