London Broncos have signed full-back Josh Rourke ahead of the 2024 season.

Rourke arrives at the club after scoring 11 tries in 28 appearances for Championship side Whitehaven in 2023.

The 24-year-old is the sixth signing for the London side during the off-season, following Sadiq Adebiyi, Oli Leyland, Gideon Boafo, James Meadows, and Rhys Kennedy.

Rourke, who began his career at Salford, told the club website, external: "It's going to be a great experience."

He continued: "When I got the call to say London was interested in me, I was attracted straight away. As a player, I want to test myself at the highest possible level and be the best I can be."

Rourke, who made a solitary appearance for Salford in 2022, has agreed the move after securing five end of season awards at Whitehaven.

Mike Eccles, Broncos director of rugby and performance, said: "Josh is a tremendous talent and I'm delighted we've been able to bring him to London.

"He was particularly good against us at the Cherry Red Records Stadium towards the back end of the season, scoring two tries and making a series of big defensive efforts.

"I can't wait to see Josh develop in a full-time environment with us."
