Peter Glynn and Abe Terry: St Helens pay tribute to former players

Peter Glynn and Abe Terry both played key roles for St Helens in different eras

St Helens have paid tribute to former players Peter Glynn and Abe Terry, following their deaths at the age of 71 and 89 respectively.

Glynn, who also played for England and Widnes, featured 258 times for Saints winning the Premiership final and Challenge Cup.

Terry was a Great Britain international alongside team-mates such as Vince Karalius and Alex Murphy.

He also won the Challenge Cup and league honours, playing 216 games.

"Everyone at St Helens R.F.C. sends their condolences to Peter's family at this sad time," Saints said of Glynn,, external who died after a long illness.

Saints also "extend their condolences", external to Abe's wife Margaret and the rest of the family.

There was also a message of condolence, external from the Saints club to the family of Tom Blanthorne, a learning disability rugby league player with St Helens' LDRL team, who also recently passed away.
