Wingfield extends contract with St Helens

Jake Wingfield missed the closing weeks of the Super League season because of an ankle injury

Jake Wingfield has signed a new contract with St Helens that could potentially keep him with the Super League club until the end of the 2028 season.

The 24-year-old forward's new deal takes in the the 2026 campaign, with extensions into 2027 and 2028 dependent on appearances.

Wingfield played 17 times for Saints in 2025 before an ankle injury curtailed his season.

Saints recently announced the appointment of new head coach Paul Rowley and Wingfield told the club website:, external "Whenever a new coach comes in, everyone wants to impress and that drives really high standards.

"I'm looking forward to seeing what ideas Paul brings and getting on board with that. Hopefully he can help me take my game to another level."
