Warrington Wolves head coach Sam Burgess isn't even 20 games into his first-team coaching career and he now has a shot at guiding his side to Challenge Cup glory.

His side ran in eight tries in their thumping win against Huddersfield today to set up a showdown with Wigan Warriors at Wembley.

All the pieces for rugby league's day out at the national stadium are now set with Leeds Rhinos beating Wigan earlier in the day in the second Women's semi-final.

Leeds will face St Helens in that final on 8 June, the same day that Warrington do battle with Wigan in the men's decider.

Warrington head coach Sam Burgess was keen to deflect attention off himself when talking to BBC Sports after the win.

When asked what it's like to guide the Wolves to the final after just a few months in the job, the former England international said: "It's not about me, honesty.

"I coach the guys and they play. I'm just really proud of them because there has been a big change with what we are doing.

On the win itself, he added: "It's great isn't it. There is good energy in the stadium, the fans will have enjoyed the day and enjoyed the ride.

"I'm really proud of the team, it was a big effort. It wasn't a walkover as we scored a few long-range tries in the first half."

“Wembley was one our goals at the start of the year. We’ve been talking about it. It is a dream come true; there’s so much history there. The job is not done yet. We trained and prepared really well; Huddersfield are tough but we executed our plan flawlessly.

“The game is steeped in history and it doesn’t get more historic than Warrington v Wigan, it’ll be some experience. Sam Burgess’ team is built on effort; we turned up in the heat and won.”

Warrington’s Danny Walker speaking to BBC Sport:

“I’m over the moon to go [to Wembley] and play. I know my role well in this side; I go out and express myself. That’s what we all do. When Dufty is on form like that, he’s unstoppable.

“It was really warm; it was tough. The score line flatters us a bit, Huddersfield are a tough team, they keep going. Credit to our boys, we got the job done. We’ve got one more to go.”

Huddersfield's defence is fractured as he runs to the right, and while he still has plenty to do he charges over to make this a mammoth win.
