England have had two decent opportunities to score today but just haven't quite been able to execute.

Australia full-back Reece Walsh is probably the difference between this match being all square, or the hosts even edging it.

Australia acting captain Harry Grant, speaking to BBC One: "Patience is something we've spoken about all week. We've had plenty of opportunities and need to make sure we execute. We need to keep it nice and simple in the second half."

There is a number of things England will be pleased with, but they're a a bit scratchy. The quicker they settle themselves into the game, build a cycle and put some attrition into the game [they will score].

    HT: England 0-8 Australia

    England

England captain George Williams, speaking to BBC One: "I think we need to be more patient. Australia are too good of a team to give them that much of possession.

"Disappointing, but we're in the game - plenty of time yet. If you're in an arm wrestle and you give them cheap ball it becomes difficult."

Nathan Cleary does not miss these. It's a straight kick from 30 yards or so and flies between the sticks.

Unfortunately TMO doesn't look at forward passes. It only looked at the obstruction and grounding. It's completely up to the ref and touch judges to call forward passes and if you speak to Super League fans, this has been a problem that has existed for a while.

The referee needs help ...lots of Australian off the ball dark arts going on here.

  9. 'Too much juice on it'published at 15:15 BST 25 October

    England 0-6 Australia

    Brian Noble
Former Great Britain coach on BBC One

Brilliant from the left-hand-side of England. Jack Welsby gets Tom Johnstone away, but there was too much juice on it from Johnstone's kick.

    England 0-6 Australia

Oh my word. England get in down the left but Tom Johnstone's kick forward has too much juice on it and Mikey Lewis can't touch down for a try.

    England 0-6 Australia

Angus Crichton is over again for the Australians but Dom Young is surely taken out when going for a high ball by Josh Addo-Carr...

The video referee probably isn't even needed for this.

  12. 'I love that from Farnworth'published at 15:11 BST 25 October

    England 0-6 Australia

    James Graham
Former England forward on BBC One

I love that from Herbie Farnworth. He pops up on the left-hand-side and he's been given a free license to attack anywhere on the field. He is almost like a second full-back.

    England 0-6 Australia

Australia go for the short drop out from under the posts and Tom Johnstone is judged to have knocked on. Really not sure about that.

Conceding the first score has sparked England into life - they have been much more flowing in attack since the try.

Can they make it count before the interval?

Australia tried to play their way out of trouble and they couldn't do it. That's the reward for England staying in the right area of the field.

Am I seeing things, or was there a massive forward pass in that try? Thrown from behind the 10m line, caught five yards in front of it!

    Peter, Windsor

What were the officials looking at in that Australia try? Clear obstruction/block in the build up and a glaringly obvious forward pass at the end! Paul

    Paul

The obstruction for the Aussie try was open to interpretation, what was binary and should have resulted in the try being disallowed was the big forward pass.

    Brilliant from England.
