Warrington Wolves captain George Williams speaking to BBC Sport:

"It was a little bit scruffy but it's wet conditions. We are playing the long game at the moment.

What did I say about the rain turning this final into a kicking game?

If you're Joe Burgess, the last thing you want is to be forced into collecting a kick with the rain in your eyes and the surface all slick.

As it happens it's Warrington who've taken their chance. And Marc Sneyd's kick has given them even more of a cushion.

Finals like this are about margins. And luck. And both have gone Warrington's way thanks to the final five minutes of that half.

  3. 'Sneyd kick is crucial'published at 15:47 British Summer Time 7 June

Sometimes you need a bit of luck and Warrington got a bit of luck there.

We saw it in the semi-final when Warrington rushed Marc Sneyd back and he had an excellent game. His kicking was crucial and we've seen a couple of examples.

  4. Half-timepublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 7 June

    Warrington Wolves 6-2 Hull KR

And Marc Sneyd's brilliant conversion from the touchline is the last action of a gripping 40 minutes of rugby league.

That Josh Thewlis try separates the two teams at the break, but this feels like anyone's game.

Thewlis touches down for 'huge' Warrington try

And they make it count! First try of the final just before the break.

Warrington are in position and Marc Sneyd opens up his box of tricks on the last play.

He goes for a grubber and it flies up off Jez Litten's boot and drops towards the corner where Josh Thewlis is free to touch it down.

And Sneyd adds the two extras with a wonderful swing of his left boot from the right touchline.

And now George Williams' half-back partner Marc Sneyd shows his hand with an aerial spiral.

Joe Burgess has ages to watch it spin and swirl and make a dog's dinner out of it.

Great position for the Wolves now.

That is a big play from England captain George Williams.

Jez Litten tries a grubber kick on the last play and when the ball ricochets free off a boot, Williams dives on it first ahead of Litten.

Williams just knew how important that was for his team with them close to their own line.

  8. 'Hull KR working hard'published at 15:40 British Summer Time 7 June

    Warrington 0-2 Hull KR

    Nick Pinkney

Hull KR have had to do a lot of hard work to break Warrington down.

Warrington came in with a lot of energy and we knew that was going to happen.

Hull KR have stepped it up a bit after that Mikey Lewis penalty.

And it's pats on the back all round for Robins centre Peta Hiku as he forces a Warrington handling error in midfield.

    This game is so good.

It's going to be one mistake or one error, maybe a penalty, that's going to shift it completely.

Kelepi Tanginoa almost claims another Mikey Lewis aerial monster, but he spills it at the crucial moment.

That would have been special if the replacement could have taken that one.

Tanginoa really makes an impact when he comes off the bench.

Warrington steal the ball from Sauaso Sue with a massive defensive hit.

But the Wolves can't take advantage and Marc Sneyd's grubber kick on the last goes dead.

I think Hull KR will be the happier of the two teams because they will see it as Warrington have shown plenty of their hand so far and ultimately it's only them with points on the board.

  14. PENALTY: Warrington 0-2 Hull KRpublished at 26 mins

    Mikey Lewis

Warrington lose the ball through a Matt Dufty handling error in midfield.

Hull KR advance and Mikey Lewis is hit by an illegal high shot from Ben Currie.

Lewis steps up off the tee and takes the two points on offer with his left boot.

What is noticeable is how many kicks Matt Dufty and Josh Thewlis for Warrington and Jack Broadbent for Hull KR have had to take in the first 20 minutes.

But not a single handling error from any of them so far.

  16. 'Rovers not in the groove'published at 15:25 British Summer Time 7 June

Rovers desperately need something to get them out of their own end here.

They are just getting turned round and turned round.

It's usually Rovers putting teams under pressure but unfortunately their own indiscipline has led them to be in their own half. They haven't really got into the groove of what they usually do.

Matt Dufty smells a bit of open space and takes advantage, but he is well hauled in by Robins skipper Elliot Minchella.

  18. 'Formula 1, anyone?'published at 15:23 British Summer Time 7 June

The rain is really pouring on and off at the minute.

As such, why not opt for a kicking game? Who's going to want to chase kicks all day knowing you'll end up sliding around?

I reckon for the neutral it could be quite entertaining. Like watching a Formula 1 race in the wet.

Both teams will know that as the rain falls, no nonsense rugby league is the order of the day.

Complete your sets, test the opposition with the kicks.

And above all else, no mistakes.

Wolves full-back Matt Dufty slips as he brings Mikey Lewis' long kick out of defence.

The rain is starting to fall at Wembley. That will add a different dimension to the game now.
