Nottingham full-back David Jackson has been ruled out of the next two games in the Championship play-offs with a fractured cheekbone.

Jackson was hurt in last Saturday's loss at Worcester , externaland will miss the away fixture at Bristol and the home tie with London Welsh later this month.

The Green & Whites need to win both games to have any chance of reaching the play-off semi-finals.

Director of rugby Glenn Delaney said: "The loss of David is a massive blow."

Nottingham face Bristol away on Saturday and a win would mean they could sneak into the play-offs with victory over London Welsh the following week - providing group leaders Worcester beat London Welsh this weekend.

Delaney added: "Both of the matches ahead of us are clearly games we need to win. In the early parts of this season we've shown that we can do that although there is no doubt about the quality of opposition ahead.

"With the results of the team's around us we know that we need wins in the matches in front of us to take the next step. It's been a long season, but what we need it that final bit of composure to see us through.

"Losing two very big players in David Jackson and Phil Eggleshaw , externalin as many games is sure to hit us hard, but we have to pull together to make this final hurdle."
