Hugo Southwell made a stunning return to action with Wasps' first three tries

Hugo Southwell ran in a hat-trick as Wasps earned a second successive European Challenge Cup Pool 3 bonus point victory against Rovigo.

Fuelled by last weekend's 47-14 against Bordeaux-Begles, Wasps were still in top gear against the Italian minnows.

Winger Riccardo Pavan's early try stunned the home side at Adams Park.

But Southwell completed his treble seven minutes after the break, before tries from Sakaria Taulafo and Richard Haughton wrapped up victory.

Nicky Robinson kicked four conversions and penalty for an 11-point haul, Charlie Davies coming off the bench to improve Haughton's late try.

The group already appears likely to be decided by next month's home and away meetings with Bayonne.
