Cornish Pirates centre Drew Locke has been ruled out for eight to 12 weeks after breaking his collarbone, BBC Radio Cornwall understands.

The 25-year-old was hurt in the in the 26-24 win over Nottingham on Sunday.

Locke is the club's second-highest try scorer of the season, having crossed the line seven times for the Pirates, four less than David Doherty.

He moved to the Penzance-based club on a permanent basis last summer from the Exeter Chiefs.

Locke had spent all of last season on a dual-registration deal from the Premiership club.

The news is the second blow to the Pirates in one day after forward Blair Cowan moved to Premiership side Worcester.
