Liam Middleton, Iain Grieve and Jason Hobson commit to Bristol

Head coach Liam Middleton, captain Iain Grieve and prop Jason Hobson have all penned new deals with Bristol.

Former academy coach Middleton, 34, is in his first season in charge at the Championship side and has committed until 2014 along with Grieve, 24.

Hobson, 28, has signed a three-year contract to keep him at the club until 2015.

"I'm very pleased to stay on at the club for another couple of years," Middleton told BBC Radio Bristol.

"We are very much in the early stages of the vision we have for the club and I think we are putting the right foundations in place."

Back-rower Grieve came through the club's academy system and became a regular in the first-team in 2008/09, when Bristol were a Premiership outfit.

He was made skipper at the start of the current season but has been hit by injuries this term and is currently sidelined with a fractured eye socket, external.

Hobson is in his second spell with Bristol, having played for them from 2003 until 2009 before opting to join Wasps. , external

"They have both been loyal to the club," added Middleton. "Iain has played at the club all of his career, Jason had a spell here, went away and came back.

"Both of them are very talented players and have got some good rugby ahead of them.

Middleton has lead the side to 14 victories from 18 matches this term and they currently hold a seven-point advantage at the top of the Championship, with four games of the regular season left to play.
