Launceston captain Tom Rawlings says his side must 'start maturing' after their late 24-16 loss at Worthing.

Sam Hewick and Robert Smith scored two late tries to seal a win for Worthing.

Alexander Nielsen and Matthew Miles gave the hosts a 12-0 lead just before half time.

But James Lightfoot-Brown's try just after the break and three Kieron Lewitt penalties put the Cornish All Blacks 16-12 up before Worthing's late comeback got them the win.

"We've got to start maturing as a side and start finishing games off," Rawlings told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"We've made a pact that we're not going to lose like that any more, if you lose by a healthy amount sometimes you can accept it more.

"But if you lose narrowly, and we've had quite a few narrow defeats this season, it's even harder."

But Rawlings said that he is proud of the way his side performed against a team who are third in National Two South, 31 points ahead of Launceston.

"I'm really proud of our performance, they put it in right to the end of the game.

"It was very frustrating but I'm immensely proud of the effort we put in, we showed we could have won," he added.
