Wales wing Tom Prydie has joined London Wasps on loan until the end of the season.

The teenager, who became the youngest player to play for Wales in 2010, external, moved to Wasps on Thursday.

He has played 12 times for the Ospreys region since making his debut in 2009, but only once this season.

"It was unanimously agreed... that in the short term the best option for Tom was to be playing regular rugby," said chief operations officer Andrew Hore.

"We sat with Tom to discuss all options available to him regarding his ongoing development. People forget that he is still only 19 years of age.

"[Regular rugby is] something which, given the strength in his position here, is not being afforded to him at present.

"With this in mind, we have agreed this short-term loan to enable him to get more exposure."

Prydie, who has won four Wales caps and is a regular member of the Wales 7s side, was not named in the Ospreys Heineken Cup squad and had fallen behind the likes of fellow wings Hanno Dirksen and Eli Walker.

Prydie is still contracted to the Ospreys and is scheduled to return to the region ahead of the 2012/2013 season.

Wasps have also recruited Lee Robinson from Leicester and the pair will cover for injured duo Christian Wade and Tom Varndell.
