Will Fraser says Saracens have their sights firmly set on reaching a major final next season.

Despite ending a strong campaign top of the Premiership, the club fell at the semi-final stages of both the league and Heineken Cup last term.

Last season an anti-climax - Fraser

"Obviously we would have loved to make at least one of the finals last year - it was a bit of an anti-climax in the end," the flanker told BBC London 94.9.

"We fell short and want to go one better this year and make a final."

Saracens begin their Premiership campaign against London Irish, though Fraser is set to miss the opening months of the season with a shoulder problem that saw him miss both semi-final defeats.

The 23-year-old is unsure of the exact date for his return to action but, having been involved in the England set-up prior to his injury, he says he is determined to get back into the national fold.

"I received a text from [England assistant] Graham Rowntree the night of the squad announcement for Argentina talking about the injury, but that I'm still very much in their thoughts," he commented.

"Once I get back fit, I need to get back playing well again, fighting for my spot.

"I will do everything I can to be in the mix in the autumn if I have enough time, but I've obviously got massive aspirations to play for England."
