Tom Biggs: Bath play down Hull FC code switch for winger

Premiership Bath have dismissed newspaper reports that winger Tom Biggs is set to sign for Rugby League outfit Hull FC.

The Hull Daily Mail linked 29-year-old Beverley-born Biggs with a cross-code move to his hometown club on Tuesday.

But head coach Mike Ford told BBC Radio Bristol: "I have spoken to Tom and the rumours are not true.

"Tom is a Hull boy and they are after a back three player. People have put two and two together."

Ford, a former rugby league player himself, added: "He's a Bath favourite and Bath at heart. The fans love him and he wants to stay.

"He has a massive role to play this season. He'll be involved this weekend against Leicester and is very much in our plans.

"We want to keep him and that's all I can say on the matter."

Biggs is under contract at the Rec until next summer.

A former England Saxons player, he started his career at Leeds and had a spell at Newcastle before signing for Bath in 2010.

Biggs played 19 Premiership games last term but found himself as an unused replacement for the opening game of this season against Newcastle, with Matt Banahan and Semesa Rokoduguni playing on the wings.

Hull, meanwhile, finished the regular Super League season in sixth place and face Catalan Dragons in the play-offs.
