Leicester Tigers backs coach Paul Burke has left after just over a year in the role, reports BBC Radio Leicester.

The ex-Irish international and Tigers fly-half joined the coaching staff in 2008 and was promoted to backs coach after Matt O'Connor left in May 2013.

But Leicester's mixed start this season has prompted them to look at re-organising the coaching team.

Phil Blake and Geordan Murphy will share responsibilities for the backs in the short term.

Burke joined Leicester from Munster, external in the summer of 2006 and ended his playing career at Welford Road, before taking up a coaching role.
