Kieran Hallett 'a class act', says Cornish Pirates boss Ian Davies

Cornish Pirates fly-half Kieran Hallett will attract interest from other clubs if he continues his current form, says director of rugby Ian Davies.

The 29-year-old has contributed 100 points this season, 15 of them in the 30-12 win over Jersey on Saturday.

"I think people will start looking at him," Davies told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"He's a really good player and his goal kicking is outstanding. But he's now got the management of matches as well in his locker."

Hallett has previously played for Ireland's Under-21 sides as well as Nottingham, Bedford and Plymouth Albion.

His points tally makes him the third highest scorer in the Championship this season and Davies continued: "He's a threat and he's class act, but the way we're playing compliments him as well."

He was matched against Jersey's former Pirates and Gloucester fly-half Jonny Bentley on Saturday, and Davies felt his man was better.

"You saw very good 10's on the park," he added.

"Jonny Bentley, back at the Mennaye after a couple of years, showed how good he is, but Kieran I thought was a class act all day.

"If you had to go between the two of them, I think Kieran came out on top."
