Jersey remain third from bottom in England's second-tier competition after suffering their eighth league loss of the season

Jersey director of rugby Harvey Biljon says his side can build on their 27-17 loss at home to Bristol.

The island side led with 10 minutes to go before two late tries ensured Bristol got their 17th consecutive win.

Jersey have won just two Championship games all season and have lost their last eight games in all competitions.

"We've got to dust ourselves off and make sure we can back that up against Doncaster, then Nottingham and the games to follow," Biljon said.

Jersey's last win came against bottom-of-the-table Plymouth Albion in the British and Irish Cup in November and only Albion, with one win, are the only club with fewer league victories than the island side.

"We deserved more, but we keep saying it," Biljon told BBC Radio Jersey.

"Anyone involved with Jersey Rugby Club, whether you're a supporter, volunteer or staff member, will have been pretty proud of the way the players conducted themselves out there.

"There's absolutely no doubt that we are putting in the hard work, we're putting in the sacrifice, we're getting ourselves prepared, but we need to turn that into something."
