Sale Sharks: Neil Briggs returns and Jonathan Mills stays

Neil Briggs has played just twice as a substitute for Leicester so far this season

Sale Sharks have re-signed hooker Neil Briggs from Leicester Tigers and agreed a new deal with second-row Jonathan Mills, both on two-year contracts.

Briggs, 29, spent six years at the Sharks before leaving to join French side Bourgoin in 2011.

Ex-London Welsh captain Mills, 30, joined Sale in 2013 after the Exiles' relegation from the Premiership.

"Jonathan played a big part in our success last season and has been a key player," said Sale boss Steve Diamond.

"As for Neil, he needs no introduction to Sale fans.

"After leaving us he has picked up a wealth of experience and I believe that he has got better and better as his career has developed."

Briggs, who spent a short time as captain at Sale, will help cover the loss of Marc Jones who has agreed to join Championship side Bristol.

Jonathan Mills has made 48 appearances for Sale, scoring one try
