Six Nations: Wales players "owe" Warren Gatland - Richard Hibbard

Wales hooker Richard Hibbard has vowed to repay the faith shown in him and most of the side that played in the 21-16 defeat by England.

Coach Warren Gatland has made just one change for Sunday's match against Scotland with Liam Williams replacing the rested George North.

Gloucester's Hibbard, 31 and with 34 caps, says Gatland deserves a better performance from Wales at Murrayfield.

"I think we owe him that for giving us a second chance," he said.

Wales let slip an eight-point half-time lead against Stuart Lancaster's side last Friday, conceding 13 unanswered points in the second half in Cardiff.

Hibbard, a star of the British and Irish Lions' 2013 2-1 Test series win in Australia, says the defeat has been hard to take, but is all the more determined to put things right against the Scots.

"We've let ourselves down and let a lot of people down at the weekend losing to England, especially at home," he said.

"To get a second chance, it's a great opportunity."

Wales have not lost to Scotland since 2007 and thrashed them 51-3 in 2014 in Cardiff after full-back Stuart Hogg was sent off in the 22nd minute.

The Welsh will be looking for an eighth consecutive win against the Scots, who lost their opening Six Nations match 15-8 in Paris against France.

Scotland are now coached by New Zealander Vern Cotter and Hibbard says Wales will need to raise their game.

"We know we've got to push on," the former Osprey said.

"We know it's going to be a tough Test. We've really got to bring our A-game."
