Glasgow Warriors have extended Connor Braid's loan spell from London Scottish until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old was due to return to the English Championship club.

But, with backs Duncan Weir out injured and Finn Russell and Peter Horne with Scotland, the Warriors have agreed a deal to keep the Canadian at Scotstoun.

Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said: "He is a hard-working player who is always looking to improve and can play in a variety of positions."

Braid joined Glasgow in August but was allowed to leave for the Exiles in December only to return to the Pro12 club.

Townsend, who will hand Braid his first start in Saturday's top-of-the-table game against Munster, also thanked the Exiles for their assistance.

Braid added: "I want to play as many games as I can for the Warriors over the next few months.

"I'd like to thank everyone at London Scottish for making me feel so welcome and wish them all the best for the remainder of the season."
