Ulster and Ireland wing Andrew Trimble signs two-year deal

Ireland wing Andrew Trimble will remain at Ulster until at least June 2017 after signing a new two-year Irish Rugby Football Union deal.

The 30-year-old, who is sidelined with a toe injury, made his Ulster debut against Cardiff in 2005 and has scored 64 tries in 188 appearances.

Trimble's first Irish cap came in the same year and he was key a player in the 2014 Six Nations success.

"I am delighted to have signed for a further two years," he said.

Trimble has scored 16 tries in 57 games for Ireland, with his most recent appearance coming in the 23-17 victory over Argentina last June.

He was named Player of the Year for 2014 by the Rugby Writers of Ireland after his starring role in the Six Nations and helping Ulster reach the Pro12 semi-finals.

Trimble added: "I will be aiming to put myself in the frame for selection for Ulster and Ireland over the coming months.

"This will be an exciting year at both provincial and national level and I hope to play a role in the coming years in the continuing success of Irish rugby."
