    Earlier (see 11:49), we told you the Football Association of Wales had declined to comment on the plans of their English counterparts to enter Great Britain teams at the 2016 Olympics.

    Now they have. And it is strong stuff. FAW president Trefor Lloyd Hughes says he is "livid" with the English FA.

    "I am absolutely gutted with the English FA," he says. "If they want to work with us they have to be more open with us and they don't seem to be keeping to agreements."

    GB teams played at London 2012 but the English FA had said that would be a one-off. It has written to its counterparts in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales to ask them if they want to take part in Rio de Janeiro.

    The Football Association are continuing their investigation into allegations former Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay sent offensive text messages, following "the emergence of significant new information".

    The Championship club are considering legal action, or going to football's governing body Fifa, over allegations Mackay sent "sexist, racist and homophobic" messages to ex-Bluebirds head of recruitment Iain Moody.

    "Due to the emergence of significant new information, the FA is currently not in a position to conclude its ongoing enquiries into the allegations relating to Malky Mackay and Iain Moody," says a FA statement.

    Mackay was appointed Wigan Athletic manager in November.

    Hull City forward Dame N'Doye is expected to start after being rested in Saturday's defeat at Stoke.

    Strike partner Nikica Jelavic should overcome a swollen knee, but Irish midfielder Robbie Brady faces up to six weeks on the sidelines because of a calf injury.

    Sunderland are without England winger Adam Johnson, who has been suspended following his arrest.

    Veteran defender Wes Brown is available after successfully appealing against his red card at Manchester United, while Jack Rodwell, Ricky Alvarez and Billy Jones are all thought to be fit.

    Uh oh - another footballer finds himself in a spot of social media bother.

    West Ham United striker Carlton Cole is the latest to be charged by the Football Association for a comment posted on a social networking site.

    "It is alleged that the comment was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper and/or brings the game into disrepute," say the governing body., external

    The player has until 18:00 GMT on Thursday to respond to the charge.

    • Every one of the 17 Premier League encounters between Aston Villa and West Brom has ended either as a draw or with a one-goal margin of victory.

    • Aston Villa's only win in the eight most recent meetings came in last season's corresponding fixture.

    • Villa have lost seven league matches in a row and have gone 12 league games without a win - one shy of their top-flight club record of 13.

    • The Baggies have only lost once in eight league games and have kept five clean sheets in their seven league matches under Tony Pulis.

    Ipswich Town loanee Chris Wood has told BBC Radio Suffolk that his future at parent club Leicester City is uncertain.

    The 23-year-old striker has made just one Premier League start for the Foxes this season and joined Town on loan last week.

    The signing of Andrej Kramaric by Leicester in January pushed Wood further down the pecking order.

    "I'm focusing on the next 12 or 14 games," said the New Zealand international. "My focus is on helping Ipswich. My future is up in the air. I don't know what's going to happen."

    Aston Villa skipper Ron Vlaar has completed a ban but is "touch and go" to face West Brom because of a calf injury.

    Left-sided pair Kieran Richardson and Aly Cissokho remain unavailable so Matt Lowton could again deputise at full-back.

    West Brom boss Tony Pulis has fitness concerns over top scorer Saido Berahino and fellow forward Brown Ideye, who both limped off against Southampton on Saturday with respective foot and knee injuries.

    And his striking options are further limited as Victor Anichebe remains sidelined by a groin problem.
