Canterbury and Highlanders back-row forward Nasi Manu is to join Edinburgh this summer after the 26-year-old New Zealander agreed a two-year contract.

Manu, who can play at flanker or number eight, has won world titles at under-19 and under-20 level with his country.

He told Edinburgh's website: "I'm excited to be heading to Edinburgh and taking up a new challenge in my career.

"My partner and I are looking forward to living in Scotland and learning more about the history and culture."

The Pro12 club expect the forward to arrive in Scotland after the end of the current Super XV season.

Having made his Super Rugby debut in 2008 for Crusaders - before even playing club rugby - Manu moved to the Highlanders in 2010.

He is in his second year of co-captaining the side and has also won six titles with provincial club Canterbury, who he joined in 2007.
