Exeter prop Brett Sturgess is set to sign a new deal at the club, according to head coach Rob Baxter.

Sturgess, 33, is one of the club's longest-serving players, having joined from Connacht in 2007, but is out-of-contract in the summer.

He has played 11 times this season and scored one try, in a European Challenge Cup win over La Rochelle.

"Things with Brett will get themselves sort out relatively quickly," Baxter told BBC Sport.

"We're pretty certain Brett's going to stay here and we'll be making an announcement any time soon."
