Marcos Ayerza: Leicester Tigers prop to miss up to six weeks
- Published
Leicester Tigers could be without Marcos Ayerza for up to six weeks after the prop suffered a hamstring injury.
The 32-year-old has made 144 Premiership appearances since arriving at Welford Road in 2006.
Leicester have three more league games left, but are not playing this weekend because they are already out of the European Champions Cup.
Tigers boss Richard Cockerill said he was "hopeful" Ayerza would be back for the final game of the season.
"He has a grade-two hamstring strain, which will probably be four to six weeks," Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester. "But hopefully it'll be nearer the four and hopefully he'll be fit to face Wasps.
"He's a quick healer and it's not quite as bad as we first thought."
