Manchester has been chosen to host the 2016 World Rugby Under-20 Championship.

The games will be played at AJ Bell Stadium, the home of Sale Sharks and Super League's Salford Red Devils, and Manchester City's academy stadium.

This year's tournament is currently ongoing in Italy and England will face New Zealand in the final on Saturday.

Manchester will also stage England's only game away from Twickenham at this year's World Cup, when they meet Uruguay at City's Etihad Stadium.

"It's a great opportunity to bring a top-class rugby event to the city and grow the game even further in the region," said World Rugby chairman Bernard Lapasset.
