London Irish: Bob Casey appointed Exiles chief executive

Bob Casey played 232 matches during a 10-year career in London Irish colours

Former London Irish captain Bob Casey has been appointed Exiles chief executive as the club reshape their management structure.

The 6ft 8in ex-second row, who spent over 10 years as a player with the club and also won seven Ireland caps, was previously operations director.

Interim head coach Glenn Delaney becomes head of rugby operations.

Club president Mick Crossan said Casey has shown his commitment and leadership "both as a player and as a director".

Crossan, who led the consortium that took over London Irish in 2013, added: "We will be working with him and his team to restore this great club to its rightful place among Europe's leading clubs."

Other appointments see Paul Forsyth arrive as head of finance, Darren Henry join as head of commercial, Fiona Stockley move from Reading FC to become head of operations and former rugby manager Kieran McCarthy become rugby chairman.

David Fitzgerald reverts to a non-executive chairman role.
