Ireland full-back Rob Kearney has been ruled out of Saturday's Six Nations match against Scotland in Dublin because of a hamstring injury.

The Leinster player missed the 58-15 win over Italy last weekend and Simon Zebo is set to continue at full-back.

Cian Healy (hamstring) and and Eoin Reddan (calf) are doubts for the final Six Nations game as the Irish chase a third-place finish.

Uncapped Munster wing/full-back Andrew Conway has joined the squad as cover.

"Rob Kearney's hamstring hasn't recovered sufficiently and he will not be involved in Ireland camp this week," the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) said on Monday.

Head coach Joe Schmidt had hoped to have Kearney fit again for Scotland's visit to the Aviva Stadium, as Ireland seek to ease a disappointing campaign with a second victory this weekend.

Schmidt had anticipated Kearney overcoming his injury when quizzed over the 29-year-old's fitness in the wake of the easy victory over Italy.

Robbie Henshaw, Andrew Trimble and Keith Earls all received stitches to facial cuts during the Italy win, but all three will continue training.

Ireland entered the Six Nations as defending champions but are battling to salvage pride after a tough run of injuries and frustrating performances.
