British & Irish Cup: Jersey semi-final defeat 'difficult to accept' says boss Harvey Biljon

Jersey head coach Harvey Biljon has admitted it is "very difficult to accept" their British and Irish Cup semi-final loss at Yorkshire Carnegie.

The Channel Islanders scored six tries but converted just one as they were beaten 33-32 on Sunday.

"We missed a couple kicks but I think we missed a few decisions too that should've gone our way," said Biljon.

"We spoke before about character - I think they showed an abundance of that and they deserve to be in a final."

Biljon's side had never made the knockout stages of the tournament before this season.

It is their seventh game without a win against Yorkshire Carnegie, who are one place and 12 points above them in the Championship.

"It's very difficult to accept because if everything could go against you in the game it probably did," added Biljon to BBC Radio Jersey.

"It was what semi-final rugby's all about, two very competitive teams.

"They kicked their goals and we didn't - we had two kickers attempting but for whatever reason we couldn't get it between the uprights."
