Jersey have signed Bristol winger George Watkins for the 2016-17 Championship season.

The 25-year-old has scored 66 tries in two spells at Bristol, having rejoined the club from Cardiff Blues in 2014.

Watkins spent the second half of this season on loan at Moseley.

"George has been one of the stand-out wingers in the Championship dating back to my time with Pirates, and is a proven try-scorer with genuine pace," said Jersey boss Harvey Biljon.

"He's had fewer opportunities to shine this past season, and I know he's very motivated to show what he's capable of.

"We have some exciting talent in our back line for next season, which will lead to some tough competition for starting places, which I think will bring out the best in the players."
