Jersey Reds beat Ampthill in pre-season clash as Ross Adair scores twice

Jersey winger Ross Adair scored two of his side's five tries in the win at St Peter

Championship side Jersey Reds made it two pre-season wins from two, with a 35-22 victory over National One outfit Ampthill.

The Reds were 21-5 ahead at half-time thanks to tries from Nick Haining, Ross Adair and Jack Macfarlane, with wing Sam Baker going over at the other end.

Ampthill made things uncomfortable with second-half scores from Joe Bercis, Will Goodge and Sam Hanks.

In between, Nick Campbell's try and Adair's second ensured a Jersey win.

They face Worcester Warriors at St Peter next Saturday in their final pre-season friendly ahead of their fifth Championship campaign.

Jersey: Cuthbert; Adair, Robling, Eastwell, Lane; Katz, Dudley; McCarthy, Macfarlane, Armstrong, Voss, Phillips, Argyle, Doyle, Haining.
