Glasgow Warriors back-row Adam Ashe will miss the remainder of the year as he recovers from a hip operation.

The 23-year-old has been sidelined by a foot injury since the play-off loss to Connacht last season.

Capped six times, Ashe will not be available for Scotland's autumn Tests against Australia, Argentina and Georgia.

He has scored four tries in 29 appearances for Glasgow following his debut in September 2012.

"We're all disappointed for Adam that he's going to be out for a longer period of time following a hip operation, but we wish him all the best with his recovery," said Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend.
