Wales: Cory Hill added to squad for autumn internationals

Newport Gwent Dragons second row Cory Hill has been added to the Wales rugby squad for the autumn internationals.

Wales have concerns over lock Jake Ball who suffered a rib injury playing for Scarlets against Saracens.

Four players have been released to their regions for matches this weekend.

It means Ospreys forwards Dan Lydiate and Scott Baldwin are available to face Dragons on Saturday, while Rhys Gill and Lloyd Williams can play for Blues against Scarlets on Friday.

The 24-year-old Hill, who was signed by the Dragons from Moseley, is called-up after impressing the coaching team after taking part in squad training this week.

His inclusion increases the size of the squad to 37.

"It's fantastic for Cory as an individual and it's good for us as a team," said Dragons captain Lewis Evans.

"One of our objectives is to get as many boys in the Welsh squad as possible, so we're all really chuffed for him.

"Cory's a fantastic line-out forward, he's a good worker, and he's a good guy off the field as well so I think he'll bring a fair bit to that Welsh squad."

Wing Keelan Giles, who has also been training with the Wales squad, has been released back to play for Ospreys.

Wales play Australia in Cardiff on Saturday, 5 November, followed by games against Argentina, Japan and South Africa.
