Auguy Slowik: Worcester Warriors sign Bristol full-back for rest of season

Worcester Warriors have signed Auguy Slowik for the rest of the season after the 22-year-old full-back was released from his contract by Premiership relegation rivals Bristol.

Slowik, who came from Bristol's Academy to sign his first professional contract with the club in 2013, had the rest of this season left on his existing deal.

"We're looking forward to integrating him," said head coach Carl Hogg.

"Auguy will provide more competition for places in the back three."

He is the second short-term signing made by injury-hit Warriors in a fortnight following the arrival of Australian scrum-half Michael Dowsett.

The France-born back, who is qualified to play for England through his mother, scored 19 tries in 28 appearances before going out on loan in 2015 to Leeds-based Yorkshire Carnegie.

His younger brother Lucas also played for Bristol, becoming the club's youngest player in the professional era in 2013 at 17 years and 268 days, before retiring a year ago following an accumulation of injuries.

Bristol chief executive Steve Gorvett said: "Auguy leaves on amicable terms and with our best wishes. It's right that he pursues opportunities at another club. The reasons behind this mutual decision are for Auguy to obtain more game time and further his career."
