Sale Sharks prop Eifion Lewis-Roberts will miss the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The 35-year-old was injured in the Sharks' 31-13 win against Bristol last month, having scored a try in his seventh league game of the campaign.

Boss Steve Diamond has no plans to buy in cover for the Wales international, with James Flynn available.

"He has an ACL injury so is out for the rest of the season," director of rugby Steve Diamond told BBC Sport.

"I think we're capable with James Flynn coming through and Ross Harrison but if we take anymore injuries we may have to look at signing someone."

He has made 157 Premiership appearances for the Sharks in two spells, having played for Toulon in 2011-12.
