Gloucester back Henry Purdy has signed a new, extended contract with the Premiership club.

The 22-year-old, who can play at centre or on the wing, has made 29 league appearances for the Cherry and Whites.

The former England Under-20 player's existing deal had been due to expire at the end of the current season.

"The more Henry plays, the better he gets," director of rugby David Humphreys told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"Being able to play in different positions has allowed him to grow as a player and, similarly to some of our other younger players, he will get better the more he plays."

The length of Purdy's new contract has not been disclosed.
