Jersey Reds have signed 26-year-old centre Nick Scott for the remainder of the season.

Scott, who can also play on the wing, joins the Championship side after a spell in the Premiership with Sale Sharks, where he played once.

Head coach Harvey Biljon told the club website:, external "Nick's a pedigree player with considerable experience he's really keen to get stuck in".

Meanwhile, prop Marc Thomas and centre Heath Stevens have left the club.

Thomas, 26, scored two tries in 14 appearances for the Reds this season but signed for Cardiff Blues, making his debut for them in the Anglo-Welsh Cup against Sale Sharks on Sunday.

Stevens, 24, has moved into a career in teaching after playing twice for Jersey and is expected to rejoin Coventry in National League One.

Biljon added: "Heath had the offer of a really good opportunity to start preparing for life beyond rugby. We wish him all the best."

"We're disappointed to lose Marc, but the Blues have had injuries in the front row this season and this was an opportunity for him to get established as a Pro12 player."
